Is school refusal a common issue?

 Yes, but the reasons kids don’t want to go to school vary so widely that each student case must be looked at individually.

 

What’s my first step?

The process of choosing a school or program for your child begins with an interview with the parents. This includes a complete review of all records of your child’s educational history and testing.

 

What is your availability?

All inquiries are responded to in a 24 hour period. I am available to meet virtually or in person.

 

What are next best steps for finding the right school for my child?

• Do you have a current Neuropsychological Evaluation?

• Do you have a Individual Education Placement Assessment.

• Do you need help seeking financial aid?

• ​I meet with the student, parents, and clinical professionals, referring out as necessary depending on what is needed.

 

Can you help me navigate the IEP vs 504 process?

I refer to advocates who do this as their specialty.

 

How do I deal with my child’s over reliance on technology?

It works on a case by case basis:

• Parent coaching is often required.

• There are a list of educational professionals here in Los Angeles I refer to.

• I also assess the need for out-of-home (generally out-of-state) placement .
